How do you balance environmental, social, and financial sustainability in small and medium sized businesses?

Join an interactive presentation online with Dr Merrin Pearse to hear how what might be seen initially as additional costs around sustainability are actually business opportunities, ways to reduce risk and improve relationships with your suppliers and customers. He will cover topics like: what information are large retailers looking at when considering stocking your products, does recycling really work, is measuring your carbon footprint worthwhile doing, and how do you choose the most relevant sustainability issues.

Following Merrin’s presentation there will be an opportunity to ask any questions you have, whether they are from a business accounting perspective, or an environmental sustainability perspective, as joining Merrin for the Q&A will be Kayleen from the MTM Accounting team.

When: 15 Oct 2025 at 12:30-1:30 pm via Zoom

Merrin has worked in the sustainability and ESG space for 20 years. He specialises in helping organisations put strategy into action through stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and working with teams to provide onsite advice. Previous projects have been for small and large clients in New Zealand, Asia, Europe, and North America. He normally explores a company’s recycling bins before having a discussion with staff to discover efficiency gains, carbon reduction opportunities, and social impact. Having lived in Hong Kong for 15 years Merrin brings a strong Asian perspective to the issues and opportunities.
